The management team supports the head of the authority in central management tasks. It prepares decisions at authority level, for example on the use of resources, development of the authority strategy, particularly in the areas of personnel development/management, organizational development and controlling.
Analysis
Wuppertal Police Headquarters faces a wide variety of changing challenges on a daily basis. The primary goal is to ensure safety in the Bergisch cities of Wuppertal, Remscheid and Solingen. However, internal police challenges must also be taken into account and dealt with conceptually. This requires a regular, detailed analysis of the security situation in the core tasks of the police - emergency response, traffic accident prevention and crime prevention - and the definition of a target.
Authority goal
The Wuppertal police headquarters, with its central position in the Bergisches Land region, is one of the safest regions in NRW. This standard is to be maintained. The police in Wuppertal, Remscheid and Solingen will base their actions on the needs of the citizens and the objective security situation.
Focus of action
The police headquarters has set itself a long-term strategic direction with this objective. On this basis, the authority management defines the medium-term priorities for action in a permanent process of situation assessment and the resulting decision-making. There are currently several focal points:
- Combating extremism in all its manifestations
(example: Hellwach gegen Extremismus project) - the fight against residential burglary
(Example: Riegel vor!)
Proactive action
The regular updating of the strategic orientation ensures that the police headquarters proactively prepares for recognizable or expected challenges and flexibly finds appropriate responses to current phenomena and problems "competently and presently".
