The Wuppertal district police authority is the largest police authority in the administrative district of Düsseldorf. More than 1800 employees work in the region. The head of the authority is Police Chief Markus Röhrl. The deputy head of the authority is Senior Police Director Bernd Huppert.
Four police directorates
The authority is divided into four directorates as well as the management staff, press and public relations and the presidential office. The core tasks of the police are carried out in the Directorates of Emergency Response, Crime Prevention and Traffic. These include emergency response, law enforcement and prevention. These three directorates are supported by the Central Tasks Directorate, which performs essential administrative and service tasks for the entire authority.
