The two new radio patrol cars are finished in silver, blue and neon yellow. This means they are easily recognizable as police patrol cars and cannot be overlooked. The S-Max (4.8 meters long, 1.78 meters high) offers 170 hp with its 2.0-litre diesel engine. That is enough horsepower for the van to get the officers to the scene quickly. The Vito also has a 2.0-liter diesel engine, which provides 190 hp. Despite its size (4.9 meters long, 1.94 meters high), the van can therefore also impress with its speedy and swift driving style.
A common feature of both models is the clearly laid out space, both in the passenger compartment and in the trunk. A new shelving system makes it possible to store a lot of necessary equipment.
A special signaling system even had to be developed for the Vito so that the overall height is not significantly impaired, but the blue light is still clearly visible.
The first three vehicles arrived at the Wuppertal police station a week ago and have been in use ever since.
The Wuppertal police are delighted with the "new ones" and wish all citizens and colleagues a lot of safety on the roads.
